A non-invasive solution for chronic and sub acute back and leg pain

Since 1994, over 7,500 of our patients with chronic and subacute back and neck pains have been treated using the VAX-D table at our facility. VAX-D is a patented non-surgical treatment that has become a standard of care for spinal pain, and a leading alternative to surgery. VAX-D treatment is especially recommended for patients with pain from intervertebral disc disorders that have not had spontaneous recovery in the first four weeks since the onset of symptoms.

The treatment is a safe and cost-effective procedure that eliminates the risks associated with drugs, surgery, injections or anesthesia. VAX-D treatments are backed by years of clinical research studies, and the only back and neck treatment that uses the patented smooth logarithmic decompression curve method to distract the spine to negative intradiscal pressure. All decompression devices are not equally effective.  It is the ONLY decompression device that has the FDA’s official stamp of approval. No other device on the market carries this endorsement.

VAX-D is a motorized table that gently stretches the spine and decompresses the discs.  Throughout the day, the pressure on your lower lumber spine can be so high that it can pinch nerves, causing excruciating pain. VAX-D Treatment was developed to reduce this pressure, relieving the pressure on pinched nerves.  VAX-D breaks the cycle of pain caused by bulging and degenerated discs and helps the body heal itself.

During the treatment, patients remain fully clothed. They are fitted with a harness that wraps around their pelvis while lying face down on the motorized Table.  One of our Certified VAX-D technicians operates the table from a computerized console. Sessions last 45 minutes and depending on the severity of the patient’s condition, typically 20 consecutive sessions are recommended for relief. Patients will experience varying levels of pain relief during their VAX-D treatment sessions. As the treatments progress, patients will gradually feel a reduction of symptoms. Time off work or in recovery is minimal, and resolution of symptoms can be long lasting.

Customized Care

The Genesis digital software creates custom profiles for each patient, making your treatment set up quick and convenient.

Versatile

Patients can now choose to be treated in the prone (face-down) or supine (face-up) position. Lumbar or cervical treatments can be done on the same table (same database). The Genesis system is the only system that offers this complete versatility.

Safe & Secure

All of the data programmed from your session(s) are securely stored for each treatment using encrypted software that can only be viewed with the Genesis program.

FAQs

What is VAX-D Genesis and how does it work?

VAX-D is a patented medical technology that gently stretches the spine and decompresses the discs. Pressures in the lower lumbar spine can be as high as 180 mm of mercury during many common daily activities. VAX-D Treatment is able to reduce the pressure in the lumbar spine down to levels of 160 mm of mercury, relieving the pressure on pinched nerves. In short, VAX-D breaks the cycle of pain caused by bulging and degenerated discs and helps the body heal itself.

Will VAX-D help a slipped disc?

A bulging or “herniated” disc is sometimes incorrectly referred to as a “slipped” disc. VAX-D succeeds at treating bulging or herniated discs over 70% of the time.

If I’ve had back surgery, can I still have VAX-D?

If you have had back surgery that has failed, you may still be a candidate for VAX-D unless you have fixed surgical hardware used to fuse the spine. In fact, a clinical study showed that VAX-D provides relief for patients who have had back surgery.

Are there any reasons that I can’t receive VAX-D treatment?

There are a few individuals who cannot take advantage of this treatment. These people have conditions such as: Tumors Fractures (broken vertebrae) Osteoporosis (Reduced bone mass/density) Pregnancy or certain conditions (diseases) that compromise the structural integrity of the spine and discs. These conditions are present in only a small percentage of the population.

How much does VAX-D cost, and will my health insurance or Workers’ Compensation cover it?

Generally, the cost of VAX-D is about 1/10th the cost of back surgery. You will need to contact your health insurance provider to see if your policy covers the treatment.

How is VAX-D different from traction or the other treatment claiming to decompress the spine?

Although traction devices can stretch the lower back, they have not demonstrated the ability to decompress the lumbar discs and spinal nerves. Traction tables have an electric winch mounted in a column, or attached at the head of the table. They are easily identified by the simple cable that attaches to the patient’s harness. Either static or intermittent traction modes can be chosen, but no other device has been shown to reduce the disc pressure to negative levels. Frequently, VAX-D research is found on traction table websites.

Why should I consider VAX-D Therapy?

VAX-D Medical Technologies discovered and developed non-surgical spinal decompression and it is the only treatment that delivers VAX-D’s patented ‘logarithmic curve’ necessary for spinal decompression.
